Four generations
What began as a fuel station and repair shop in Jackson in 1945 grew alongside the ranchers it served. Four generations later, Shepherd’s Garage still stands for practical knowledge, direct answers and support after the sale.
Where it started
Jack Shepherd opened the original Jackson shop in 1945 as a Texaco station and repair garage for local ranchers. As their needs changed, the work changed too—from fixing equipment to building hay loaders, beaverslides, buckrakes and other machinery made for the Big Hole Valley.
That ability to adapt carried Shepherd's Garage from fabrication into equipment sales, parts and service. The company expanded to Dillon in 2005 and now serves customers through Jackson, Dillon, Helena and Victor—without losing the local accountability on which it was built.
